Good evening ladies,
It has been awhile since I have posted and with the bridal shower being any day I figured I would go ahead and do so. I must say so much has been accomplished since I last typed. We ordered all of the rentals - tables, chairs, table cloths, glasses, forks, plates.... We've purchased and located (around my house, moms house, and grammy's house) items to be used in the decor and a few other goodies...I could go on and on but the point is we've been busy busy bees :) and there is still work to be done.
Last night my mother, Auntie Ella, and I visited the garden. It was my first evening visit. It was so beautiful. As I sat at the bench looking up at the twinkle lights above me it hit me. This is really happening. (I have had a few "hit me" moments but this one was different) I pictured Chris, Jalayla, and I surrounded by our loved ones. I pictured laughter, music, dessert, and felt such a sense of gratitude. We have been so blessed to have the support of our family and friends. I know you all have been working hard to ensure that my wedding day (and every day up to it) is as stress free as possible and I thank you for that. Planning a wedding in less than two months has been a lot of work!!!
As Saturday approaches and we are all together again I want to let you know that I appreciate all of your hard work, positive attitude, and desire to make me happy. I know whatever you do will be beautiful not only because you all have a knack for organizing, decorating and/or can throw down in the kitchen but because it is from your heart and when something is genuine, sincere, and heartfelt it shows.
Honestly it doesn't take much to make me happy. Being with my girls in a harmonious environment will do the trick for sure :)
I love you all dearly and can't wait for Saturday!!!
Sincerely,
An oh so delighted Bride to Bee

“Love doesn't make the world go 'round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.” Franklin P. Jones
Good evening girlfriends,
I'd like to start off this post by saying CONGRATULATIONS to Mrs. Karla Fountain!! Karla you made such a beautiful bride. Thank you for allowing Jalayla and I to be a part of your special day!
So yesterday morning as I laid in bed recoverng from alchohol poising (jk) I thought to myself today is August 1st. It then hit me that less than one month I will be marrying the love of my life. I always smile when I think back to the night I met Chris. The then Pleitez sisters (now Anderson and Fountain) were on a mission to make sure that our paths crossed at some point. The funny thing is not only did Chris and I go to church across the street from one another but Jalayla and I were frequent Medtronic visitors (where Chris, Karen, Karla, and their sister Jenny worked) and yet not once did our paths cross. It wasn't time yet... Ultimately their persistence paid off and come night time I found myself, Karen, and Clara sitting in the back of Chris' car on our way to a lounge(my first night ging out with friends since giving birth). I could tell this story over and over and over but what I remember most about that night was talking about nothing for hours and learning my signature dance move (one hand up). For the sake of time me not wanting to write a novel I will leave out many many details of that night but what I will never forget is getting home very late, waking my mother up, and telling her that I had met my future husband....
I can't help but think how blessed I am. Although we may not have taken the easy route to get to where we are we got here and I couldn't be more grateful. God has given me a partner to go through life with, someone who loves me for me and more importantly loves my child as his own. He has also blessed with amazing friends who also love me for me, support me, and love my child as their own :)
Each of you bring something special to our lives and have impacted mine (and Jalayla's) in some way, shape or form. Some of us have known each other for years and others it feels just like that. You have watched Jalayla come into this world and have been there to watch her grow into this amazing little person. You have shared your babies with her and opened your hearts to her. You girls know my history and more importantly know that my history is not what defines me. You know my struggles and heart aches and yet you know my joys, my dreams, and my hearts desires. Not only do you know them but you share them with me.
As we get closer and closer to the big day I remind myself that it is just one day of many. August 28th will come and go and be just a memory. We have an entire lifetime ahead of us. I want to thank each of you for choosing to be a part of that memory and again for being a part of my lifetime. I know I tell you often but I must tell you again that I am so thankful each of you. Jalayla and I love you with all of our hearts. We are feeling a lot of love coming our way and it's such a blessing.
Hoping to grow old with you girls too :)

Hatch My House

So tonight I came across what I think may be the perfect solution to our registry dilemma. Paired with the darling poem Karen found we're sure to have one dynamic duo. Now mind you while I realize that many people may not be comfortable with the idea of a money registry I think this site is great! Worth a shot I think. It's an interactive gift registry. Go ahead search for us (either use my name or our wedding date - I can't figure out how to allow a search with Chris' name) by going to www.hatchmyhouse.com and "find an event". Guests can purchase exterior items such as planters, columns, roofing, and windows OR interior items such as pillows, lamps, and furniture. The money received from the "items" purchased will go directly to our savings account via paypal. Love it!! And while the picture doesn't look a lot like our house other than the color I think everyone will get the idea...
Ok so here's our poem courtesy of Karen Anderson. Once again - Love it!!
They have their dishes and towels
They have pots and pans and oven mitts too
So what do you get for the Bride & Groom
Whose house is setup in every room?
Their house needs repairs and some upgrades too
But you can not register for carpet and glue.
A well that holds wishes is the way to go
So lets make it easy for all that know.
An envelope will be provided for those who have room,
To give a monetary wish to the Bride and Groom
A wishing well will be on display at the reception hall
To attach your wishes, for the couple, with love from all.

More Hairstyles

Goooood moooorning,
I wanted to thank you ladies for coming over yesterday to get measurements for your dresses. The sketches Tina drew were lovely interpretations of your ideas. I can not wait to see each of you in your dress (and shoes!). I know we briefly touched on the subject of hair and some of you have been sharing with me your ideas. Love them! I am fine with you either having your hair up or down - I know you will all look beautiful either way. Attached are three more hairstyle ideas to add to your list of possibilities. Please be sure to take a look at the ones Karen found too. Talk to you soon!

Holla back young'n (Hoooo Hoooo!)
I don't have too many more updates for you as of today but figured since I am no longer "on call" I'd drop a few lines :)
As you all know we will be meeting at my casa this Saturday so that Tina can measure you for your bridesmaid dresses. Can't wait to see all of the styles you picked out!! I will also be finalizing our cake and dessert order as well as tasting a few additional flavors Saturday afternoon (thanks KA). Yummy!
On Sunday Chris' Aunt Ella and I will be going to the venue to decide on our "lay out" and finalize the amount of tables we will need. This will help us to figure out exactly how many centerpieces we will need.
We have also finalized our plan for favors. We decided to follow our hearts and stick with our original plan and will therefore be doing a "charitable favor" SO if you have any ideas on wording please please holla at your girl.
P.s what's another word for finalize? I used it way to many times. Where's my thesaurus?
